Erik Johnson, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer, West Division
Erik Johnson, M.D., serves as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the West Division. He joined Pediatrix in 2023 and has served in various leadership roles in primary care, hearing screening, telemedicine and value-based contracting.
Prior to joining Pediatrix, Dr. Johnson practiced general pediatrics for 25 years in Illinois and California. He served in health system service line leadership roles at AMITA Health (Ascension and Advent Health) and was a founding board member for the AMITA Health Clinically Integrated Network. Most recently, he was the Market CMO for UnitedHealthcare in Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
Dr. Johnson is a board-certified pediatrician and a certified physician executive. He has a medical degree from Loyola University-Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and an MBA from The University of Massachusetts-Amherst Isenberg School of Management. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of California-Irvine.
